The Paine Art Center and Gardens is another cultural fixture of Oshkosh. This historic estate and art museum features a large permanent collection as well as major traveling exhibits that range from Old Masters to contemporary Wisconsin artists. The lovely gardens surrounding the estate are often used for weddings and other events.
Menominee Park is an excellent Oshkosh park where families and children can enjoy the amusement rides, playgrounds, and zoo. A swimming beach and picnic shelters allow residents to spend a day enjoying fun in the sun. The park also has numerous sports facilities that residents can utilize during the warmer months, such as outdoor tennis and basketball courts.
In the aviation world, Oshkosh is well-known as the location for the EAA AirVenture, an annual event that takes place at the end of July. Attracting aviation enthusiasts from around the globe, this event has put Oshkosh on the map.
